Rose Returns to Doctor Who


The BBC have now confirmed that the character of Rose Tyler, played by Billie Piper, will be returning to the fourth season of Doctor Who. As you may know, Captain Jack (John Barrowman) will also be returning to the fourth series, so this looks like a great new season!

Torchwood Season 2 Filming Finished!


Gareth David-Lloyd (the one and only Ianto Jones) has revealed to fans that filming for the second series of Torchwood is now complete! The cast and crew had a very small wrap party last Wednesday.

Chris Chibnall Interview


Chris Chibnall has given an exclusive interview with SFX Magazines, regarding the fast-approaching second series of Torchwood. Chibnall says: "More fun, more adventure, more warmth, more romance, more excitement. We've plussed everything!". And on the subject of Jack, he says: "We learn a lot about Jack, about all aspects of his life - more about the time agency, more about where Jack comes from. And he has [romantic] entanglements this year. I wish I could tell you who with, but you'll have to wait and see!" Chibnall confirms that Billis Manger, the nasty villain from episodes 12 and 13, won't be returning to the second series, but may do so in the future.

Torchwood Season 2 in US


It has now been confirmed (for those in the United States) that the second series of Torchwood will air on the BBC America channel, premiering on January 26th! This also gives us a fair indication as to when the UK will be able to view it on BBC2 (we have been told it's not too far behind).


UPDATE: We would like to apologise re a post made earlier, stating that an ad for Torchwood, Season 2, was seen on the Australian television channel, Channel 10. It was in fact an ad for the first series of Torchwood.

According to the booklet in John Barrowman's Another Side album, his autobiography is set to be released January 24th, 2008!

BBC News have released a new interview with John. When asked about Torchwood, John says: "I'm making series two at the moment, filming should finish at the end of November and it'll go out in January. They'll hate me for saying it, but it's actually doing better than Doctor Who in the US on BBC America."

Torchwood Box Set Out Early


The Official Torchwood Season 1 DVD Box Set, set to be released next Tuesday, has hit shelves early! Some Woolworths stores across the United Kingdom are selling it a week early! The box set includes 7 discs, packed with all the episodes, commentaries, deleted scenes and featurettes.

Captain Jack is Coming Back


In a recent interview, John Barrowman has revealed that his Whoniverse character, Captain Jack, will be returning to Doctor Who for the fourth season! He says that he won't be in the Christmas Special, but that filming for the fourth season commences after Christmas. Also mentioned is his auto-biography, which he says will be released in around February.

JB Various TV Appearances

John Barrowman will be taking part in lots of various TV appearances.

  • 11th of November: John will be performing songs from his new CD on Strictly Come Dancing, which airs from 6.50 to 7.35pm on BBC1.
  • 12th of November: John will be a guest star on GMTV, via a live link from Cardiff.
  • 14th of November: John will perform on the UK National Lottery Draw. It is scheduled for 10.40, but check your TV listings as the time may vary.
  • 16th of November: John will be performing on the Children In Need Special. Click here for a full report.

John Barrowman CD Signing and Tour

Excerpt from JB.net:

John will be signing copies of his new album ANOTHER SIDE at HMV, 150 Oxford Street store (LONDON) from 12.30pm to 1.30pm on Friday 16th November. It will be a wrist banded event, restricted to 250 fans on a first come first served basis.
John will also be going on his first ever solo tour. The tour starts on the 7th of April, 2008, and tickets go on sale tomorrow (9th of November) at 9:30am!

James Marsters Interview

Boston Now have released a new interview with James Marsters, who is guest starring in the second series of Torchwood. When discussing Torchwood, he says: "I hope America can deal with Torchwood. I thought I was going to do this nasty Dr. Who spin-off over in England because, you know, English people are kind of randy. They like their entertainment a little spicier than Americans can deal with, frankly."

New John Barrowman Interview

John Barrowman has recently been interviewed by a UK newspaper, The Independent. The interview, which took place in a Cardiff recording studio, has John talking about Torchwood, Doctor Who, his musical career, the theatre industry and much more! When discussing his new album, Another Side, he promptly says: "Look, this is not about me setting myself up as a pop star here, but simply for those people who have seen me on television and are maybe keen to discover another side of me, that's all."

As Owen and Ianto debate whether to open the Rift, tries to open the Rift, Jack faces an unexpected secret from his past as he and Tosh meet a handsome young American squadron leader named… Captain Jack Harkness.

Weevils are being abducted by humans, and it's not humans as in Torchwood. As Owen goes undercover to find out who is committing these crimes, he meets Mark Lynch. Facing his own demons, Owen gets sucked into the fightclub-like subculture of which Lynch is a part. Owen shows no fear of death when he is locked in a cage with a weevil, but he is reluctantly rescued by Jack.
